Award Winning Architecture

This project was a thorough renovation and extension of a dilapidated dwelling, to a modern, traditional and contemporary family home.  This restoration and extension transformed a brick built, concrete tiled roof, three bedroom dwelling into a substantial four bed detached, family home.
The front of the property was re-faced in reclaimed Yorkshire stone.  Not only did this enhance the appearance but also improved the thermal efficiency of the dwelling.  The property was re-roofed with blue slate and a balcony was formed to the rear to make the most of this fantastic setting and outlook.
Upon completion of the works the property was nominated for a civic society award by a local resident who had witnessed the restoration and transformation.  The property went on to scoop the Huddersfield Civic Society Best Residential Design Award 2012.
Mr Wyles, of the Huddersfield Civic Society, stated: “People think Huddersfield Civic Society is just keen to support the past but we are a very forward looking society and are eager to seek out and celebrate new architecture”.
